Kia Ora! (Hello in Maori) from TEA-02/2009

TEA-02/2009

Thank you to everyone who has left comments on the blog, its great to hear from you all and your prayers are much appreciated.

Our first week has rushed by and has been filled with laughs, sand flies, possums, and a lot of firsts for the whole team. We spent three days tramping, training, and absorbing God's word to prepare us for God's mission.

We all look pretty funny... don't ya think?!

TEAm work
Our luxury accommodation consisted of a tarp, a rope, and a ground sheet which was frequented by the local possum community. Brittney and Ruth pulled the short straw, with their heads at easy access to the rummaging possums. Along side the campsite was a beautiful multipurpose stream which doubled as a perfect quiet time spot.

Wish you were here...

Despite the itchy legs, sore shoulders, and greasy hair (not George) the scenery far surpassed the hardships!

How many tourist's can you spot?

We've definitely got to know each other as a TEAm with a few burps, a few sing songs, and a few impersonations of each other... Is it aluminum? Or aluminium?

"Don't we all look beautiful with our super cool hats?!"

Kayaking is on the agenda for next week where we get to meet TEA 01/2009 where we anticipate sharing the work God has done in and through us during our time in country.

We've learned to take every opportunity to talk to people about Christ. So with our bags packed and Scripture on our hearts we look forward to sharing the gospel throughout NZ.

Please keep us in your prayers...

-safety on the road

-for us to radiate God's love to others

-meet the people God wants us to meet

-strength as we tramp!

We've seen more cows than sheep!

Keep you posted, you're in our prayers :)

Hi Sarah

You all look fantastic and are obviously really having a great time!

Love the hat Cess!...and the smiles! As for the leggings..please bring me back a pair :)

We love you loads and miss you loads, but know you're slap bang in the centre of God's will. We couldn't ask for more.

Have a wonderful time this next week...be blessed in God, and remember we're praying for you all so much!

Loads of love as always

Mum xx

PS My vote goes to aluminium :)

Hallo Katrin,

Hi Brittney

Keep a salt shaker full of those sand fleas and sprinkle them on every possum passing by. Maybe then those rascally possums will avoid the trespass of your five star tarp accommodations.

Have a great time Kayaking!

Be safe and radiate God's love!

More advice later from the Mother ship.
